Paul Willis TerryJr., is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter born in Austin TX, who went to junior high and high school in Madison, WI, but now lives in Los Angeles, CA. Paul has been down many roads and been known by many names, but always as an artist. You may know him as Pauly, or Paulo, PT, or Pablito (if you’re an old friend or family).
He excelled in childhood as a violinist, but eventually detoured after feeling excessive pressure to perform and compete were robbing him of a normal childhood. He also displayed great aptitude in the 2-dimensional world of drawing and painting. Childhood and adolescence were times of expansion The sounds and energy of jazz, psychedelic rock, reggae, and hip hop renewed a primal thirst. And the desire was born for creating hypnotic, multidimensional art that transcends time and space.
Always a bit perplexing in person and in music, Paul credits much of his eccentricities to the influence of his father, a world renowned Physicist at UW Madison, and his mother (an immigrant from Peru--the conquered lands of the Inca, who is the most spiritually centered person he has known.
Paul was self taught in the graphic arts and in web design. A believer in working hard and playing hard. He was awarded an A.A. in music from SMC and a B.A. in Ethnomusicology from UCLA. As a member of several LA bands, such as Samson Simpson, Toussaint, Mentone, and Cloth he has toured the West Coast and performed at world famous venues like the Whiskey, the key club, and the Hard Rock Cafe.
